Herr Vader and the Classy Ren Fest

Last night there was a free outdoor concert at Schönbrunn Palace. Not only was it free, but it promised the Viennese symphony playing, among other space-themed pieces, the music of Star Wars. Oh, hell yes. I was there, along with some friends. Here we are:

And the other side:
We (like the hundreds of people around us) had the brilliant idea to show up two hours early, grab a comfy spot on the grass behind the stage, and picnic while we waited for the music of John Williams to take us to a galaxy far far away. We brought the usual: two bottles of coke with two tin cups to go around, 4/5ths of a loaf of bread we had to cut with Armand's pocket knife, some meat, chips, chocolate, and Dhivia baked a heart made of peanut butter brownies. The people to one side of us brought champagne and champagne glasses. The other side ripped up a garbage bag and used it as a blanket.

Long story short because it's late, we couldn't hear a thing, climbed down the hill to the Imperial March, and then saw Darth Vader. And some storm troopers, Boba Fett, Leia, etc. Listening to Star Wars. At a palace in Vienna.

It was the most pretentious Ren Fest ever.
